Last week we had our Unlocking Wellbeing event in St Neots and here are some photos hopefully capturing the buzz and fun and worthwhile time we shared. Thanks to everyone who joined us, especially Cambridgeshire Recovery Service, and GamCare who partnered with us involving people with lived experience to build community and connections together.
Jo helped folks create their own vision board creatively showing goals of fun ways to care for oneself.
We had two comfy sofas kindly provided by Emmaus, Cambridge, who supports people to work their way out of homelessness by providing a place to live, work, food and community.
CPFT offer opportunities to volunteer, and paid roles drawing on your lived experience with mental health challenges, a great way to strengthen our wellbeing, as is cuddling a dog, as demonstrated here by Kait and Dee.
HealthyYou provide health MOTs (blood pressure, body mass index) checkups and help around lifestyle choices, such us alcohol services, mental health, smoking, falls and adult weight management. These two guys are modeling their branded hoodies showing off the logos of their teams.
Hope explained many ways that WoodGreen helps animal lovers to love our pets, so they do far more than animal rescue. For example, they setup mobile vans offering free medical treatment for pets.
Cambridgeshire Recovery Service (CRS)showed off the art created by their members, launched as Creative Instinct. Creativity has been proven to help our mental and physical health. You don’t have to paint or draw to be creative.
Many have enjoyed our other wellbeing events in Wisbech, Cambridge and Huntingdon. Partnering with CRS and others, we hope to make our Ely Unlocking Wellbeing event the best one yet.
